Press Statement

This is to inform the news media that Mr. Abdulkadir Islan Mohamed Islan Muse has been appointed PUNTLAND STATE OF SOMALIA Minister for Interior and Public Security to replace Mr. Hassan Abshir Farah, who resigned recently.

Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Basaweyne has been appointed Governor of Nugal Region to replace Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Muse (Xuuxuule).

The President made these appointments today in consultation with the Vice President in accordance with the PUNTLAND STATE OF SOMALIA Constitution.

The Council of Ministers has been informed in session of these appointments and they unanimously approved this Executive Decision.
